Avermectin is another novel animal drug after chlortetracycline and Maduramicin developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical General Factory Pingyin Pharmaceutical Factory. The Avermectin product is obtained by the fermentation of streptomyces Avermectilis S.P. Avermectin is a new. broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent with high effectiveness and less toxicity. The helminth. nematode and ascaris can be easily killed by it in animals and poultry. The other type of this product-Ivermectin. developed by Merk sharp U.S.A., has been widely used to prevent and cure the parasitism in animals and poultry.
Avermectin has the similiar toxicity and effectiveness to Ivermectin, and it would be widely used in the future.

[Dosage and administration]
Avermectin B1 powder should be given orally at the dosage level of 0.2mg/kg.b.w for cattle, goat, horse, camel, dog and cat, 0.3mg/kg.b.w for pig.
